Winter....yuck.

  • Mood: Crowded
Well, January has officially kicked people's butts. I feel a bit sorry for them as they have to pile clothes on themselves whereas I, in all my feline beauty have my own fur coat. The last three days have been hell on me personally. First my people's electricity went out. I'm thinking big deal, right. But then they decide that it'd be best to visit some of their family that had electricity. So what do they do with me?

Beware, fellow felines that are reading, the following gets a bit scary.

Keep in mind, as I tell my story that I know my people were only looking out for me, but still... Anyway, the decide to put me in the carrier. I hate this thing at the best of times. But after being chased around the house and thwarted in my attempts to get away I was forced into this tiny prison. They packed me in their car and off we went to their family. So we get there and at this point I'm happy to be in the carrier. Three little terrors known as children kept trying to get me. I know I'm wonderful, but come on people, give a lady some room. Finally, as I got accustomed to my adoring fans I left my carrier. That's when I saw it.

I don't exactly know what it was; though I did hear the word dog a time or two. Let me tell you it didn't look like any dog I'd ever seen. It looked like a black mop without its handle. It sounded funny too. It sounded like L2C does when she has a really bad cold.   The sound it made had me baffled for a while until I saw it's nose...or lack thereof. Its face was all squished in...after seeing that I felt kinda bad for the thing. Needless to say though, it still freaked me out. After spending a harrowing night with the noseless dog we left to stay with L2C's sister. (The noseless dog lived with her brother.)

I definitely felt better at the sister's house. They're used to cats so the kids knew when to back off. After being let out of the carrier I saw him. He was so cute. A nice burly, solid guy. I mean this cat could totally take on anything. Of course he doesn't know I like him. Hmph that would definitely be too forward. So we have this "dance around each other" thing going on.

So anyway I'm now home with my familiar surroundings. That hunk of a cat is staying with us. I showed him around a bit before claiming my familiar spot on the back of the sofa. L2C's sister is staying with us so it feels a bit crowded for me...but hey whatever. A cat has to learn to go with the flow sometimes.

Besides, I can't complain too much. L2C finally put together my cat tree...which I'll have to share when the kitten gets here but that's another topic altogether. I think I'm going to head on over and take a nap in my tree.

Ta,

Yoda

Hello, I'm Yoda.

  • Mood: naptime
First, I believe an introduction is in order. My name is Yoda. Why my people chose to name me that is quite illogical in my opinion. I had big ears as a kitten, so what. Personally, I think they should have named me something a bit more elegant and dignified, but I suppose there's no use mewling at spilled milk as I've heard the saying go.

I am four years old, quite young for my wisdom, but anyway. L2C, as she doesn't want to me to call her by her real name on here, is taking my dictation. It takes an extremely long time to  put down my thoughts when I have to hunt for the keys, also I have no thumbs.

I must say that for all my people's faults, and there are many, they have given me quite the pampered life. Don't get me wrong, I've had some rough times. My good friend, Oreo, died of liver failure a couple years back. I miss that cat. He was the more chatty of the two of us. Then L2C had to go and get him. A kitten that soon became my arch nemesis. Oh sure, I admit he was a cute ball of black fur, but that's where it ended. I knew he was bad news as soon as he emerged from the carrier. I have several opinions on that tiny prison device, but I don't wish to digress.

Phantom, as my people named him, was quite the little terror. I won't go into details, but suffice it to say that my people didn't take kindly to his attitude. Eventually, they saw the light and gave him up for adoption. But my brief period of peace is about to be disrupted yet again.

L2C is giving me the "look" but I will not be silenced. She has decided to get another kitten. Her reasoning is beyond me. I will reserve judgment on this kitten for now as I'm sure that purebreds have a bit more class. However, I'm telling you right now that if this cat gets an attitude with me...well, I shall leave it at that. I'm a firm believer in keeping one's threats to oneself. Less evidence that way should you get caught in flagrante delicto.

Well, it is time for my noon nap, so I shall end here. Thank you for visiting.
